So do you know when your insurance renews each year? Do you know what your deductible is? Do you know when you’ve met it each year? Most importantly, have you been putting treatment off because of the cost? It’s time to get answers to these questions.
This is the time of year when many individuals have met their insurance deductibles, thereby making their out of pocket expenses more affordable.
What is a deductible, you ask? Adeductible is the amount of money that must be paid out of your pocket before an insurer will pay any expenses. If you’ve had other medical procedures or therapies throughout the year, chances are you have paid your deductible.
Now that your deductible has been met, you can enjoy the full benefit of your health insurance plan. With some plans, a patient pays nothing out of pocket once the deductible is met. With others, a patient may have to pay a co-insurance (generally 20%). On average, this is less than $20.00 per visit.
Don’t wait to take advantage of your deductible free status.
Most insurance plans’ deductibles begin again on January 1st. If you are not sure if you have met your deductible, give us a call! As a courtesy, we verify every patient’s insurance before you start therapy.
We know you will be able to focus more on feeling better when you are not worried about how much “feeling better” will cost. Now it’s the time to just get better. So either let us check it for you, or check yourself, but find out whether now is the time to stop putting those treatments off.
