As summer becomes fall, we begin the regular pattern of our lives for the remainder of the year. We’ve swapped our camping gear for briefcases and pool-side fun for backpacks and lunch boxes. It also means those aches and pains we’ve put off treating to enjoy those long summer days are making themselves a priority.
This is the time of year when many individuals have met their insurance deductibles, thereby making their out-of-pocket expenses more affordable. What is a deductible, you ask? A deductible is the amount of money that must be paid out of your pocket before an insurer will pay any expenses. If you’ve had other medical procedures or therapies throughout the year, chances are you have paid your deductible.
Now that your deductible has been met, you can enjoy the full benefit of your health insurance plan. With some plans, a patient pays nothing out-of-pocket once the deductible is met. With others, a patient may have to pay a co-insurance (generally 20%). On average, this is less than $20.00 per visit.
Don’t wait to take advantage of your deductible free status. Most insurance plans’ deductibles begin again on January 1st.
At Specialized Physical Therapy we are here to help you feel better year round, but we like to know that the care we provide is also affordable to you, the patient. If you are not sure if you have met your deductible, give us a call today – 720-493-1181.
As a courtesy, we call and verify every patient’s insurance before you start therapy. We know you will be able to focus more on feeling better when you are not worried about how much “feeling better” will cost.
