Do You Suffer From Back Pain?

Do You Suffer From Back Pain? | Back Pain Denver
There is nothing more uncomfortable than when you suffer from back pain. It seems like every move you make sends shooting pains up your spine.

We are often asked if there is any way to get rid of back pain. The answer is yes. And, many people assume they cannot do anything to prevent their back pain. This is simply not true.

The latest research studies show that the reoccurrence of back pain can be reduced from the normal 80% reoccurrence rate to 30% in just six weeks. The participants in the study followed a very specific exercise program monitored by a physical therapist for six weeks. The participants were contacted a year and three years later and their reoccurrence rate was at 30%.

The exercise program in the study was based on the most current research out of Australia. These exercises were very specific and retrained critical muscles that prevent back pain.

It has been shown over and over that general fitness type exercises do not prevent back pain. Most people can reduce the intensity of their pain by staying active but they are fooling themselves if they believe this is fixing anything.

Recurring Back Pain

The other consideration when talking about the reoccurring nature of back pain is family history or genetics. Research has also shown that genetics is a higher predictor of back pain than your job, your weight, your fitness or the number of crunches you do.

We have found this to be true with heart disease, diabetes, blood pressure, and many other diseases. However, in all of these cases people have the ability to affect the course of such problems by doing the right thing. If I am at risk for heart disease, I can exercise and eat right. I’m still at risk but my risk is lowered. The same holds true for back pain.
