Where the Science of Healing Becomes an Art | Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

Where The Science OF Healing Becomes An Art - Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

So what can SPT do to show you that the science of healing is really an art? Well, if you suffer from pelvic floor problems, they can help heal your issues and improve the quality of your life. This means you too men! Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy offers help for patients suffering from all kinds of incontinence/leakage or pelvic pain issues.

A thorough evaluation

SPT will provide a thorough evaluation including checking for things like low back pain and other things that could mean pelvic floor issues. The therapist will check low back motion and leg strength, conducting special tests to check the nerves and soft tissue tension in the low back and surrounding area. The therapist will also check internally to assess the tone, strength, and endurance of the pelvic muscles. Then they will work with you to come up with a plan to help address the issues found.

Pelvic therapy

Pelvic therapy can address both stress and urge urinary incontinence, the leakage of urine with sneezing, coughing, laughing and/or activity or leakage of urine with the urge to go to the bathroom. It can also address fecal incontinence which is the leakage of bowel material. If you experience pelvic pain, including pain in the diaphragm, abdominal area, thigh, buttocks, legs, or pelvic area, therapy can help solve these issues too.
